Republic of Moldova’s Experience presented during a Videoconference organized by the Civic School for Sound EU Practice

The representatives of the State Agency for Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated On June 24, in a video conference organized by the Civic School for Sound EU Practice (CiSEP) (Ukraine).

The purpose of the online event was to familiarize representatives of public authorities and civil society in Ukraine with the Republic of Moldova’s experience on the implementation of the intellectual property rights chapter of the Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Moldova, of the other part, signed on 27 June 2014 in Brussels, Belgium (Association Agreement).

During the videoconference, the Deputy Director General of AGEPI, Natalia Mogol, presented the legislative amendments implemented by our country in order to adjust the national regulatory framework in the field of intellectual property to the Community legislation; the difficulties encountered in implementing the association agenda; the measures taken by AGEPI and other public institutions in order to create an effective mechanism for the enforcement of intellectual property rights and other topics of interest to the participants in the event.

At the end of the videoconference, the participants had the opportunity to ask concrete questions related to the transposition of Community regulations into national legislation, ensuring decision-making transparency, etc.

The Civic School for Sound EU Practice (CiSEP) is a network of active citizens in Ukraine. Since 2015, CiSEP has been offering training courses to enable civic activists to become effectively involved in the AA/DCFTA implementation process. Together, CiSEP partners have taken initiatives in the areas of food security, intellectual property, trade and sustainable development and consumer protection. Today, CiSEP consists of over 150 active citizens and change-makers from all over Ukraine.
