On May 8, 2014, at the Technical University of Moldova (TUM), in the Exhibition Hall of the campus “Rascani”, was held the Exhibition of engineering works of TUM students entitled “Creation Opens the Universe”, dedicated to Europe Day.

The event brought together teachers, pupils of graduate lyceum grades, students, and representatives of economic agents that have had the opportunity to become familiar with the creative works of TUM students in the following areas: energy, electronics and telecommunications, machine building, civil construction, mechanical engineering, transportation, industrial and fashion design, etc.\

The inauguration of the event was attended by Iurie Leanca, Prime Minister of RM, Rector of TUM, Academician Ion Bostan, Academician Ion Tighineanu, Prime Vice-President of ASM, Maia Sandu, Minister of Education, Vasile Bumacov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, professors and students of TUM.

Prime Minister Leanca congratulated the teachers of TUM for the merits and achievements of the university, and also for the ingenuity that the students of this educational institution showed in the manufacture of the first satellite of the Republic of Moldova. “I’m glad to state that the exhibition, held today at TUM, is dedicated to the celebration of Europe Day. TUM is a leading provider of highly qualified specialists, compatible on international labor market. This confirms the works exhibited here”, said the Prime Minister.

In his address to the participants, Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, congratulated students for the achievements obtained during the years of study at TUM and thanked the organizers for the idea of ​​organizing such an event, which aims to promote innovation.

“It is very significant that this particular exhibition was opened just today, on Europe Day. It is probably the most beautiful tribute paid to this day by students. TUM is among the first educational institutions in Moldova, which has beautiful achievements in the field of intellectual property. Therefore, AGEPI is always ready to afford protection to your intellectual creations”, specified the Deputy Director General of AGEPI.

In order to support and stimulate the technical creation activity of students, the works presented in the exhibition were assessed with various diplomas and prizes. The Commission judging the creative works of TUM students included representatives of the TUM teaching staff, experts of the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova and members of the student creativity organization BEST/TUM.

In the framework of the exhibition took place the student conference “Association of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union” and the student competition of creative thinking in developing machines “Rube Goldberg” – TUM 2014.

At the same time, in the exhibition were awarded Diplomas of TUM to students-winners of the National Technical Contest in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Artistic Drawing.

Traditionally, AGEPI awarded the most creative and innovative works of TUM students. Thus, AGEPI Diploma and Cup for the most original technical creation of TUM students, accompanied by a monetary award, were handed by Petru Grosu, Deputy Director of the Inventions and Plant Varieties Department of AGEPI, to the team of authors: V. Esanu, A. Motroii, Iu. Nuca, Electromechanics and Metrology Department, for the work “Effective trolley-bus, traction systems”, developed under the leadership of Dr. Ilie Nuca. Participation diplomas and monetary prizes were also handed to the following teams of authors: D. Vengher, Gh. Codreanu, I. Corcodel, TUM Technical College, for the work “Milling machine with digital four-coordinate control”, O. Dobrovolskii, Al. Cocin, Al. Coicev for the work “Horse-driven tram”.

The best works presented in the Exhibition of engineering works of TUM students will be exposed in the International Specialized Exhibition “Infoinvent”, fourteenth edition, in the section “Creation of Youth”, which will take place in November 2015.
