On 19 June this year, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) organizes a Workshop entitled “Limits and Restrictions in the Manufacture of Intellectual Property Related Pharmaceutical Products”. The event is attended by representatives of the pharmaceutical companies, the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu” and AGEPI specialists.

The purpose of the Workshop is to increase the level of information on the protection of pharmaceutical products through intellectual property objects and to implement in the Republic of Moldova a new regime for the protection of clinical and preclinical clinical trial data of these products, which will enter into force on 1 January 2020.

In the opening, AGEPI Director General Lilia Bolocan said that familiarizing representatives of pharmaceutical companies with the field of intellectual property is extremely important because it will lead to a better understanding of the field.

In the Workshop are brought up for discussion issues related to the protection of pharmaceutical products by patent for invention, the role of trademark and industrial design in the promotion of pharmaceutical products, as well as the usefulness of patent information in the context of production of generic products and access to databases in the field.
