In order to strengthen relations of cooperation between the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova and the European Patent Office and in view of the completion of the negotiations on the Agreement on validating European patents in the period of June 5-6, 2013, it was conducted the working visit of the European Patent Office (EPO) Delegation to AGEPI, including: Mr. François-Régis Hannart, Director, European and International Cooperation, and Mrs. Nina Formby, Project Leader, International Cooperation Department.

During the meeting of the EPO delegation with the administration of AGEPI were discussed several topics of mutual interest, it was made a review of the implementation phase of the AGEPI-EPO Joint Action Plan for the years 2012 - 2013 and identified the priority directions of cooperation for the next biennial. A special topic of discussion was the future of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Patent Organization on Validation of European Patents in the Republic of Moldova, which is expected to be signed by the end of this year. Bilateral talks also covered the procedure for entry into force of the Agreement and the measures needed to be taken to ensure the practical application of its provisions.

We should remind you that negotiations on the Validation Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Patent Organization were initiated in November 2012.
