Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), in cooperation with the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and with the support of the Moldovan-Swiss Intellectual Property Project (MSIP), organized an informative webinar entitled: “Intellectual Property: Practices and Recommendations for Companies in IT Parks”. The event, held online, provided an interactive framework for representatives of IT companies to understand and apply intellectual property (IP) protection tools, adapted to the specific needs of the technology industry.
The session was designed to bring legal clarity and practical guidance in the field of IP, bringing together almost 70 participants - representatives of MITP companies, lawyers, developers and IP specialists.
The webinar agenda included interventions from experts, who brought complementary perspectives on IP protection in the IT sector. Andrei Moisei, representative of AGEPI, opened the session with an introductory presentation on the basic concepts of intellectual property. This was followed by Dorian Doronceanu, from Simpals company, who approached the subject from the perspective of companies resident in IT parks, focusing on identifying and protecting IP assets through internal audits and specialized registers. Florin Mihailov, expert from Alma agency, addressed legal aspects related to the protection of software, databases and IT applications, highlighting the differences between copyright, patent and trademark, as well as the challenges brought by artificial intelligence. Finally, lawyer Maxim Macovei offered practical recommendations on the efficient management of IP within an IT company, from developing internal policies and concluding contracts, to negotiating licenses and managing disputes.
The webinar ended with an interactive question and answer session, during which participants had the opportunity to ask specific questions and receive direct answers from experts.
The event was organized within the framework of the Moldova Innovation Technology Park’s “Learning Center” Program, launched in February 2025, which offers workshops and specialized training sessions for resident companies.
The webinar benefited from the support of the Moldovan-Swiss Intellectual Property Project, funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and implemented by the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, in partnership with AGEPI. The MSIP project aims to strengthen institutional capacities and support the private sector in the efficient use of IP rights.
