With the view of implementing the Twinning Project “Support to Implementation and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Moldova”, launched on November 1, 2010, in the period of May 3-5 this year, at AGEPI, which is the main beneficiary of the project, is held the training seminar in the field of patents, designed for AGEPI examiners of inventions and patent attorneys from the Republic of Moldova.

European experts, Mr. Sven Nytoft Rasmussen, Patent Examiner, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO), and Ms. Bucura Ionescu, Director, Patent Directorate, State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania (OSIM), will present papers, case studies and practical exercises, with the involvement of all participants, on various aspects of protection of inventions and examination of patent applications.

During three days, the participants in the seminar will familiarize themselves with the best European practices concerning the examination of the inventive step and other procedures for examination, accordance of the filing date in the context of the Patent Law Treaty (PLT), recent examples and approaches with reference to the clarity of the claims, the approach of patent applications received from “amateurs”, etc.

Through the “Twinning” project, it is aimed to establish a partnership between the specialized institutions of the EU Member States and institutions of the Republic of Moldova to transfer the knowledge and the best practices in the field of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in our country.
