Talented Pupils awarded at the Contest in the Field of Intellectual Property for Young People, 9th edition

The 9th edition of the Contest in the Field of Intellectual Property for Young People, organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova (MER), the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania (OSIM) and the Romanian Copyright Office (ORDA), has designated its winners. This contest, which has already become a tradition, is organized annually in the context of World Intellectual Property Day, marked on April 26. This year’s edition had the theme “IP and Music: Feel the Beat of IP”.

The award ceremony took place on 23 April 2025, bringing together young people passionate about music, innovation and intellectual property. This year’s edition enjoyed increased interest. In total, 264 pupils registered for the competition, of which 142 were admitted to the first stage. 69 works of pupils from 40 educational institutions, representing over 20 localities across the country, were admitted to the final stage.

The winners of the contest received from the organizers cash prizes and gift certificates for the purchase of electronic products and gadgets.

Also, all participants were appreciated with participation diplomas, promotional materials and took part in an informative and socializing program organized at the AGEPI headquarters.

At the award ceremony, the Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, emphasized the importance of supporting young talents in the field of intellectual property: “Young people are the future of innovation, and protecting their creations is essential for the development of our society. Through this contest, we aim to inspire pupils to follow their passions, innovate and protect what they create. We are proud of the progress you are making and I am convinced that you will continue to make important contributions in innovative fields.”

The representative of the Ministry of Education and Research, Angela Prisacaru, appreciated the activism, creativity and involvement of the young participants, noting that these qualities reflect the promising potential of the new generation. At the same time, she reiterated the Ministry’s constant support for the organization of this contest, which contributes to the development of a culture of respect for intellectual property among pupils.

A special moment of this year’s edition, held under the theme of World Intellectual Property Day “IP and Music. Feel the Beat of IP”, was the participants’ meeting with the artist Satoshi, appreciated for his authentic style and powerful messages. His presence marked a premiere in the history of the contest, bringing a unique combination between musical creativity and the promotion of intellectual property values. The recital given by Satoshi added a dynamic touch to the event and strengthened the connection between art and intellectual property rights.

The cntest remains a valuable platform for encouraging young people to explore the field of intellectual property, giving them the opportunity to express their ideas, learn about intellectual property rights and contribute to a society where innovation is respected and promoted.

This year’s edition of the contest benefited from the support provided by the Project “Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights in Moldova and Ukraine” (EU4IP), funded by the European Union and implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
