An information visit for the 10th – 12th-grade pupils from the Lyceum “Gaudeamus” in Chisinau was held on October 18, this year, to the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), organized as part of the Applied Economics Program and the “Education for the Law” Project. The event aimed to raise awareness among young people of the importance of enforcing intellectual property rights, including industrial ones and copyright and related rights, and also to prevent delinquent behaviors related to possible offences in the field.
The visit started with a welcome message from the Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, who emphasized to the pupils how essential it is to understand and respect the rules related to intellectual property, considering its major impact in economic and social development. “Protecting your creations is the key to succeed in your professional future,” said Eugeniu Rusu.
A central point of the event was the presentation “The Role and Importance of Intellectual Property,” delivered by Andrei Moisei, principal consultant in the Communication and Training Division. The AGEPI specialist explained how intellectual property, including patents, trademarks and copyrights, influences innovation and economic growth. In an interactive format, he provided real-life examples of how the right protection can turn creative ideas into entrepreneurial successes, stimulating debate and questions from pupils.
Afterwards, the pupils visited the library, the call center and the chancellery, where AGEPI specialists spoke to them about the procedures for registering intellectual property objects. In the end, the pupils were satisfied with the event and the knowledge gained during the visit, emphasizing the importance of the information obtained for their future work.
By organizing these visits, AGEPI continues to fulfill its mission to educate and train a new generation of conscious citizens, ready to contribute to the development of a society based on respect for innovation and creativity.
