The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) announces that, as of October 1, 2020, it will proceed exclusively to the electronic transmittal of documents between AGEPI, as the receiving office for international patent applications filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) system, and the European Patent Office (EPO), in its capacity as PCT International Searching Authority.
This service, which at the EPO is known as the “PCT Paperless Service” and within the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) as “eSearchCopy”, offers the possibility of using exclusively the electronic communication for the transmittal of documents through the International Bureau of WIPO, in the AGEPI-EPO direction.
The application of the said service shall exclude the loss, delay or return of documents sent on paper by the postal service and shall ensure the time limits for the procedure.
