On December 2, 2020, the fourth-year students of the study programs “Industrial Clothing Design”, “Design and Printing Technologies” and “Technology and Design of Textile Garments”, Faculty of Textiles and Printing of the Technical University of Moldova (TUM) participated in an online seminar organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).
The event entitled “Intellectual Property in the Context of Current and Future Activity” aimed to familiarize students with the national system of intellectual property protection, and also with opportunities of using it.
Thus, during the seminar, Andrei Moisei, coordinating specialist, Communication and Training Division of AGEPI, offered students examples from national and international practice on the need and possibilities to use the results of innovation and creation activity, legal aspects related to intellectual property; talked to them about the possibility of patenting/registration of intellectual property objects (IPO) by students, about IPO databases and registration fees; encouraged students to be confident in their creative potential, to protect their rights to the results of intellectual activity, and to clearly define their goals for the future.
The students showed interest in the topics related to copyright, industrial designs, inventions, trademarks, asked questions, expressed their opinion on various situations on the subject. The participants thanked for the dynamic and interactive way in which the seminar was held.
We should mention that, for AGEPI, training in the field of intellectual property is one of the key priorities in promoting and developing the system of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
We remind you that in March 2009, the State Agency щт Intellectual Property and the Technical University of Moldova signed a Cooperation Agreement in the field of intellectual property.
