The meeting of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design took place on March 7, in online format. The meeting was chaired by the Vice-President of the Commission, Head of the International Economic Cooperation Directorate, Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization, Cristina Ceban.
The Commission met to examine 2 requests regarding the use of the official or historical name of the State in the trademark.
As a result of the examination, it was decided to grant permission to use the official or historical name of the State in 2 trademarks.
The area of activity of the applicants relates to advertising; telecommunications services; education; training; entertainment; sports and cultural activities; sugar production.
In accordance with the legislation in force, trademarks, industrial designs containing the official or historical name of the State may be registered only with the consent of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design, whose activity is regulated by Government Decision No. 8/2022.
