The International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) published on March 31, 2023, the list of symbols, whose protection was requested under Article 6ter of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property.

If you consider that extending protection to one of the notified signs may prejudice the rights in respect of a previous trademark or other intellectual property right, you can file an objection to this.

Objections regarding the protection of any of these signs must be submitted to AGEPI within 12 months from the date of publication (until March 31, 2024). The formulated objections shall be submitted free of charge, in writing, in the state language.

Article 6ter of the Paris Convention establishes the legal instrument to protect the official signs of the States party to the Paris Convention, as well as to the names and emblems of international intergovernmental organizations against their unauthorized registration or imitations from a heraldic point of view as trademarks.

At the same time, we remind you that, regarding the previous list (A new list of symbols whose protection was requested under Art. 6ter of the Paris Convention (gov.md)), objections can be submitted until 30.09.2023.
