By Order of the Director General of AGEPI No. 148 of November 4, 2022, on the application of the 2023 version of the 12th edition of the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks (ICGS), issued pursuant to the decision of the Committee of Experts of the Nice Union (adopted at the 32nd session of 2022), starting from January 1, 2023, the 2023 version of the 12th edition of ICGS is implemented.

According to item 1 of the Order:

a) the goods and/or services will be classified in accordance with the 2023 version of the 12th edition of ICGS for all trademark registration applications that have a filing date on or after 01.01.2023;

b) will not be reclassified the goods and/or services:

• included in applications with a filing date earlier than 01.01.2023;
• upon renewal of trademark registration;

c) in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee of Experts of the Nice Union, AGEPI will use the abbreviation “NCL(12-2023)” for the list of goods and services in the documents sent, the materials published and in the trademark registration certificates.
