On 27 November this year, within the premises of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (AESM) was held the ceremony of granting the scholarship of merit of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) to two of the best students, who are studying at the Business and Business Administration Department (BBA), specialty Management of Intellectual Property.

The event was attended by Mrs. Ala Cotelnic, Dr. Hab., Prof., Vice Pro-Rector of the AESM Didactic Activity, Mrs. Lilia Bolocan, AGEPI Director General, Mrs. Angela Solcan, Dr., Assoc. Prof., Dean of the Business and Business Administration Department, students and professors of the BBA Department of AESM, specialists from AGEPI.

In accordance with the Regulations on AGEPI Scholarship of Merit, nominations of pretenders were selected from among second-year students of the BBA Department of AESM, specialty Management of Intellectual Property, owning a general average for the previous year of study of 9 and over 9 and actively participating in extracurricular activities.

Thus, as a result of examination of files submitted to the contest, by the joint decision of the AESM Senate and AGEPI Administration, the AGEPI Scholarship of Merit for the academic year 2014-2015 was granted to students Elena Tomsa and Igor Cojocaru, MPI-131 study group.

In her address to the winners of the contest, students and professors present at the event, Lilia Bolocan said that “AGEPI decided to support two of the best students from AESM, who chose to study the specialty management of intellectual property, demonstrated considerable knowledge and quality in the study activities, granting them a Scholarship of Merit, in the amount of 1,000 lei per month for 10 months, in the hope that it will be useful to them in further studies and extracuricullar activities”.

AGEPI Director General presented to prize-winning students diplomas confirming grant of the AGEPI Scholarship of Merit and a set of books in the field of intellectual property, wishing them great success in studies and in choosing a way in life as successful as possible.

AGEPI Scholarship of Merit was established in 2010 and aims to support and stimulate national staff training in the field of intellectual property, which is one of the priorities of the National Intellectual Property Strategy until 2020, recently adopted by Government Decision No. 880 of 22 November 2012.

AESM management assumes the responsibility to monitor the degree of dedication and success of students-beneficiaries of the AGEPI Scholarship of Merit.

We should note that since the establishment until now, the AGEPI Scholarship of Merit was granted to 5 students of AESM, future managers in intellectual property.
