On May 12 this year, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated alongside of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, as well as other public authorities of the Republic of Moldova in the celebration of Europe Day 2018, within the European Village. The event was organized by the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova and took place in the Public Garden “Stefan cel Mare si Sfant”. AGEPI was present in the tent of the Republic of Moldova with information and consultations in the field of intellectual property.

Within the European Village, visitors were able to find tents with EU-funded project presentations, where they could find information about EU assistance to the development of the Republic of Moldova. The event also offered visitors the opportunity to enjoy European culture and cuisine and not only through the presence of the Embassies of the EU Member States and the partner countries.

Europe Day is marked annually by the European Community and partner countries on 9 May. The feast was set up in memory of French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman. At a speech in Paris in 1950, Robert Schuman proposed to establish a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would forever remove the possibility of a new war between Europe’s nations. This day is considered the date of initiation of European integration.
