INFOINVENT 2025 Has Designated Its Winners: Excellence in Innovation Awarded in Chisinau

The 19th edition of the International Specialized Exhibition (ISE) “INFOINVENT”, which took place from December 3 to 5, 2025, has designated its winners during the Laureate Award Ceremony, held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the International Exhibition Center “Moldexpo”.

The event concluded a new successful edition of the most important forum for invention, research and innovation in the Republic of Moldova, which brought together over 400 inventions, innovative projects and creative products presented by authors from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and other participating countries.

The exhibition, which returned in physical format after two online editions, was organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the National Agency for Research and Development and the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research, in partnership with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO) and with the support of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), namely the European Union-funded project “Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights in Moldova and Ukraine” (EU4IP) and the Swiss PartnershIP Moldova project.

The Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, congratulated the participants and laureates of the exhibition, emphasizing the importance of this platform for the development of a knowledge-based society: “INFOINVENT is the central pillar of the national innovation ecosystem, a bridge between research, education and entrepreneurship. Innovation and intellectual property protection are no longer options, but essential tools for competitiveness and progress.”

The Chair of the Jury, acad. Ion Tighineanu, President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, highlighted the scientific level of the presented works, noting that “the innovations exhibited reflect the potential for creativity and perseverance of researchers, teachers and young inventors.” Parliamentarian Veronica Briceag and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, Sergiu Harea, addressed the laureates of the exhibition with words of congratulations and admiration.

The Commission of Experts and the Jury of the exhibition awarded a total of 300 medals - 140 gold, 80 silver and 80 bronze - as well as trophies, cups, diplomas and special mentions offered by AGEPI and national and international partners.

The highest distinction of the edition, the Award of the Government of the Republic of Moldova “Outstanding Inventor”, was presented to Oleg Ciobanu, Doctor of Engineering Sciences and Associate Professor at the Technical University of Moldova, for his prodigious activity in the field of mechanical engineering and mechatronics. During his activity, starting with 2001 and up to the present, Oleg Ciobanu has obtained 18 patents and 26 short-term patents for invention.

The National Awards of the World Intellectual Property Organization were presented this year to leading personalities and institutions in the medical field. The WIPO Award for Inventors was presented to Professor Nicolae Bodrug, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Head of Department at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu”, in recognition of his prodigious activity in research, medical training and innovation, reflected in a remarkable portfolio of publications, innovations and patents for invention, as well as in the introduction of ozone therapy in the Republic of Moldova.

The WIPO National Award for Enterprises went to the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu”, in appreciation of its substantial contributions to the advancement of medical research and the valorization of technologies with direct applicability in clinical practice.

The AGEPI Grand Prix “Best Invention” was awarded to the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu” for the work “Methods for Complex Minimally Invasive Treatment of Liver Cancer”, signed by the team of authors Gheorghe Anghelici, Serghei Pisarenko, Oleg Crudu, Gheorghe Lupu, Tatiana Zugrav, Radu Vasiliev, Marina Ceban and Ana Covaci.

The Award “Best Invention Created by a Woman Inventor” went to Valeriana Pantea from the same university, and for foreign holders - Doina-Liana Pîslă from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The Trophy “Best Invention Created by a Young Inventor” was awarded to Aliona Pîntea from the State University of Moldova, for the work “New Coordination Compounds of Copper(II) with Antiproliferative Activity against Cancer Cells”.

The Trophy “Most Successful Plant Variety” was awarded in two distinct categories: for national participants - to the National Seed Research and Production Center, for the Porumbeni 243 corn hybrid, and for international participants - to the Suceava Agricultural Research and Development Station, for the Event potato variety.

The Award “Most Representative Participation in the Exhibition” was presented to the State University of Moldova and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania for the impressive portfolios with which they participated in the current edition of the exhibition.

In the monographs category, the Trophy “Best Monograph” went to the State University of Moldova for the work “Parasites, Parasitism and Their Impact on the Environment” (author: Dumitru Erhan), and the trophy for international participants was obtained by the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Bucharest for the monograph “Diagnostic Challenges in Medical and Surgical Disciplines” (author: Mara-Mădălina Mihai).

The Trophy for the “Best Innovation and Technology Transfer Project” was offered to the Institute of Emergency Medicine of the Republic of Moldova for a complex cycle of innovative solutions dedicated to the integrated management of stroke. The trophy for the international participant in this category was awarded to the National Research and Development Institute for Textiles and Leather of Bucharest for the integrated protection clothing system for emergency situations.

The Award for the “Best Research Project” went to the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu” for the project “Evaluation of the Regenerative Efficacy of Biological Dressings Developed Through Tissue Engineering”, and to the Giurgiu Nord Technological and Industrial Park (Romania) for the project “Demonstrative Biofunctionalization Model for Ti-Mo-Zr-Ta Alloys Used in Orthopedic Implantology”.

In the youth category, the Trophy for the “Best Creation of Youth” was obtained by the State University of Moldova for the work “Organic Agriculture for the Innovative Protection of New Walnut Varieties: Exploitation Methodologies and Technologies” and by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca for the work “Device for Transposing Music into Vibrations in Real Time”.

The special mention of the Ministry of Education and Research for Best Innovative Pupil Genius went to the Technical University of Moldova for the artistic installation “Weaved Hills”, created by a group of students under the coordination of designer Mihai Stamati.

The mention of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova “Successful Innovative Product” was awarded to Olga Fiodorov-Botnari for the work “Process for Producing Biodegradable Packaging from Fruits and Vegetables”. The same distinction in the foreign owner category was offered to CorneliuGroup Research-Innovation Association for the works Dexter’s Laboratory and AIR by Corneliu.

The Trophy “Most Skilled Craftsman” was awarded to the Union of Folk Craftsmen of Moldova for the “Scutelnic Dynasty” collection, traditional artistic ceramics made by Lilian, Ruslan and Nicu Scutelnic.

During the ceremony, special mentions were also awarded from international salons of inventions and partner institutions from Romania – the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania, the National Institute of Inventions of Iași, the Romanian Inventors Forum, the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and the “Titu Maiorescu” University of Bucharest.

Through its scale and diversity, the International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT 2025” reconfirmed the crucial role of creativity, research and intellectual property protection in the development of the Republic of Moldova, providing a platform for cooperation between academia, research, industry and young innovators, and consolidating our country’s position on the international map of innovation.
