A group of students from the Technical University of Moldova (TUM) participated on December 4 in an information visit to the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), with the aim of familiarizing themselves with the system of protection, enforcement and valorization of intellectual property rights.

The Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, welcomed the students and highlighted the importance of education in the field of intellectual property. “AGEPI will always place emphasis on the education of young people and the formation of a communication environment between those passionate about the field of intellectual property, favoring the exchange of opinions and experience”, declared Eugeniu Rusu.

Students had the opportunity to participate in an interactive lesson focused on the procedure for filing and examining applications for registration of intellectual property objects. This was delivered by Andrei Moisei, principal consultant within the Communication and Training Division of AGEPI. During the lesson, the students asked numerous questions related to the procedures for registering inventions, trademarks, geographical indications, registration fees, as well as general questions related to the legislation in the field and the services offered by AGEPI.

At the end of the session, the students were given the opportunity to take a tour of the Agency, during which they could talk with specialists from different departments about their specific activity. This experience gave the students a practical insight into how AGEPI manages its work.
