Starting with 23 January 2019, trademarks from the database of the Brunei Intellectual Property Office (BruIPO) were added to the TMview and DesignView search tools, made available by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
With BruIPO on board, both search tools provide users access to the data platform of 69 national/regional intellectual property offices.
With the addition of more than 46,000 trademarks from BruIPO, TMview provides information and access to approximately 52.5 million trademarks in total, while DesignView now contains more than 14.4 million industrial designs, including 190 industrial designs from BruIPO database.
Since the introduction of TMview on 13 April 2010, the tool has served more than 51.2 million searches from 166 different countries, with Spain, China and Germany among the most frequent users.
As to DesignView, it went live on 19 November 2012 and has since served almost 4.4 million searches from 163 different countries, with users from UK, Germany and China among the most frequent users of this search tool.
The integration of BruIPO in TMview and DesignView search tools is the result of the IP Key South East Asia programme directed by the European Commission and implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
