Associations “AUTORITY” and “ARTTON” Paid Over 1 Million Lei to 198 Copyright Holders

The rightholders received royalties in the total amount of 1,001,772 lei, according to the information provided by the Public Association “AUTORITY” and the Public Association “ARTTON” to the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI). This amount was distributed to 198 rightholders, underlining a firm commitment to respect copyright in the Republic of Moldova.

In an official notification, the two associations informed AGEPI about making the payments and presented the details of how they will manage the future distribution of remuneration. According to them, during the General Assemblies of PA “AUTORITY” and PA “ARTTON”, it was decided that the remunerations will be granted regularly, once the sum of 500,000 lei is accumulated in the accounts of the common collection structure. The method of distribution and payment of remuneration to the rightholders will be detailed in a meeting minutes, which will be presented to AGEPI within 5 days.

According to the statements of PA “AUTORITY” and PA “ARTTON”, the next distribution and payment of remunerations is scheduled to take place in the following week, thus confirming the continuous commitment to supporting creators and respecting copyright in the Republic of Moldova.

We remind you that, by Decision No. 2/333 of 06.03.2023, the Public Association “AUTORITY” was approved as a collective management organization for the management of copyright in musical and audiovisual works, and by Decision No. 3/334 of 06.03.2023, the Public Association “ARTTON” was approved as a collective management organization for the management of related rights in performances, phonograms and videograms.
