The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated as a partner in the BEST Hackathon 2020 Competition, entitled “Codiseea”. The event took place in the period December 5-6 and was organized by BEST Chisinau.

In the opening of the event, Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, addressed a message of greeting and encouragement to the participants. “Given that AGEPI has a beautiful collaboration with the BEST Chisinau community, developing together several similar projects in previous years, we considered it appropriate to accept the invitation to be with these young people with initiative this year as well. AGEPI is the institution that emphasizes the stimulation of creativity, the innovative spirit of young people and the curiosity in discovering innovative solutions,” underlined the Deputy Director General of AGEPI.

This year’s IT BEST Hackathon competition was organized in the style of “Capture the flag”, in which teams of 4 people, guided by a mentor, performed several tasks in a limited time provided by the organizers. Thus, the participants had to go through a series of interesting tests to become winners, as well as Odysseus (the hero of the Greek opera “Odyssey”) overcame all obstacles to get home.

After the presentations of each team, the Jury composed of specialists from an IT company from the Republic of Moldova and representatives of the Technical University of Moldova chose the winning team of the Best Hackathon competition. The winning students got diplomas and awards, including from partners. AGEPI gave gifts to the winners.

BEST Chisinau (Board of European Students of Technology) is a European level student organization, which operates within the Technical University of Moldova. Since 2007, BEST Chisinau continues to use the engineering potential of students and provide complementary education to the university one.
