The “Intellectual Property Week for Intellectual Property Office Managers”, an event organized by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in cooperation with the European Patent Office, takes place from 10 to 13 July 2017 in Alicante, Spain.

Designed as a platform for discussion of the role of IP offices in the continued development of the intellectual property system, the event has convened high-ranking officials from IP offices in EU Member States as well as in third countries. The event focuses on addressing topical issues such as developing business-oriented IP policy and communication strategies, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of IP services, and identifying best practices and tools to encourage innovation and creativity in participating countries.

The Republic of Moldova is represented at the event by the delegation of the State Agency on Intellectual Property, led by Mrs. Lilia BOLOCAN, Director General.

On 11 July this year, at the EU IPO headquarters will take place the AGEPI and EUIPO leadership bilateral meeting, in which will be addressed the current stage of collaboration between the two institutions, the latest achievements in the AGEPI and EUIPO activity, the convergence of practices and regulations for examination of trademarks and industrial design registered by national and community route, as well as the priority areas for collaboration between offices.

During the meeting Mr. Antonio CAMPINOS, Executive Director of EUIPO and Mrs. Lilia BOLOCAN, AGEPI Director General, will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Cooperation between AGEPI and EUIPO.

The Memorandum aims to contribute to the creation of a strategic partnership between the two institutions, the participation of AGEPI in the development projects implemented by EUIPO, as well as the facilitation of the exchange of experience and knowledge in the administration of intellectual property.
