The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated in the second edition of Science Café, held on July 28, 2026. The event brought together about 25 selected participants – representatives of public institutions, researchers and private sector actors – in an informal setting, but oriented towards concrete results.
Science Café is designed as a networking space aimed at stimulating the curiosity of researchers and facilitating their interaction with the business environment. Starting from the conclusions of the first edition – insufficient valorization of intellectual property, disproportionate administrative burdens and a limited interface between research and the market – the program included a structured dialogue, focused on identifying institutional barriers and co-creating applicable directions of action to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in the Republic of Moldova.
On behalf of AGEPI, the event was attended by Andrei Moisei, principal specialist in the Promotion and Training Section, who emphasized the role of intellectual property in the innovation process, the competitive advantages it offers and the importance of correct management of rights, especially in the context of partnerships. At the same time, the AGEPI representative highlighted the fact that the institution’s information system is a useful resource for identifying advantageous business solutions and a source of inspiration for researchers.
The event provided a conducive framework for building professional relationships and examining the role of technology transfer offices (TTOs) in the economic exploitation of research results. Science Café thus contributes to the development of a community of researchers and entrepreneurs connected to the real needs of the business environment.
Science Café was organized by Technovator, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop a functional Science-to-Business ecosystem in the Republic of Moldova.
By actively engaging in such initiatives, AGEPI reconfirms its commitment to promoting innovation, creativity and the valorization of intellectual property, strengthening the link between research, academia and the entrepreneurial environment in the Republic of Moldova.
