AGEPI participated in the International Specialized Exhibition “Food & Drinks”

In the period May 20 to 24 this year, at the International Exhibition Center “Moldexpo” JSC, was held the International Specialized Exhibition “FOOD & DRINKS-2015”. This exhibition takes place for more than 20 years and brings together the most prominent sections of the food industry: foodstuffs, waters, juices, soft drinks, spices and food additives, as well as food and beverage production technologies and equipment, as well as tool for trade and public catering sphere. The purpose of organizing the exhibition is to enable companies operating in the sphere of food industry, to study markets and competitive environment, to establish new business relationships, to maintain and develop existing business relationships, to present and promote new products/services on the market, to consolidate company’s image, etc.

State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) participated in the ISE “FOOD & DRINKS-2015” with an information stand, providing consultancy on the theoretical and practical aspects of protection of IP objects, sources of information in this area, distributed promotional materials and provided consultations in the field of intellectual property to both economic agents present by the stands and visitors of the exhibition.

Also, on May 22 this year, in the premises of the Central Pavilion of IEC MOLDEXPO, AGEPI organized a seminar to inform the economic agents participating in the exhibition entitled: “Geographical Indications – Effective Means for Using Domestic Products”. The seminar aimed at promoting and disseminating information on the role and benefits of protecting geographical indications for successful development of the business, increasing competitiveness of enterprises both on domestic and foreign markets.

The seminar was moderated by Mrs. Svetlana Munteanu, Deputy Director General of AGEPI, and according to the program, the seminar included reports of AGEPI specialists: “Use of Local Products by Exploiting the Advantages of the System of Geographical Indications”, speaker: Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director of Trademarks, Industrial designs Department; “Ensuring the Protection of Geographical Indications at the National and International Level”, speaker Simion Levitchi, Director of Trademarks, Industrial designs Department.

We would like to mention that at the exhibition were presented 74 companies from the Republic of Moldova, Italy, Romania, Ukraine, Greece and was visited by 9300 people interested in the food industry.
