AGEPI and TURKPATENT signed a Protocol of Cooperation on Intellectual Property

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TURKPATENT) signed on July 7, this year, a Protocol of Cooperation on Intellectual Property. The signing ceremony took place in Geneva, Switzerland, in the context of the participation of the representatives of the two intellectual property offices in the 64th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), held from July 6 to 14, 2023.

The Protocol of Cooperation was signed by Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of AGEPI and Cemil Başpinar, President of TURKPATENT.

The purpose of signing this document is to boost Moldovan-Turkish bilateral relations in the field of industrial property and establish an efficient and mutually beneficial action plan between the national intellectual property offices of the two countries.

The intensification of cooperation, following the signing of the Protocol between AGEPI and TURKPATENT, will facilitate the exchange of information and expertise in the field of industrial property, as well as the development of joint research and development projects. By sharing their experience and resources, AGEPI and TURKPATENT will contribute to the creation of a favorable environment for innovation and economic development in both countries.

Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of AGEPI, expressed his confidence that this Protocol of Cooperation will open new opportunities for cooperation and strengthen relations between the Republic of Moldova and Turkey in the field of industrial property.

The relations between AGEPI and TURKPATENT have a history of over 10 years, the first Cooperation Agreement between the two offices being signed in 2011. The current protocol comes to strengthen these bilateral relations and contribute to the creation of a strategic partnership between the two specialized institutions, including by carrying out joint projects and exchanges of experience in the field.
