The meeting of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design took place On February 20, in a hybrid format, chaired by Mr. Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property, President of the Commission.
During the meeting, 4 requests were examined and it was decided to grant permission to use the official or historical name of the State in the trademarks:

The said trademarks are to be used, according to the requests, for various categories of products and services: printing products; advertising; transport; packaging and storage of goods; travel organization; education; training; public catering services; temporary accommodation services; agricultural products; telecommunications; etc.
The industrial model (bottle) is to be used for alcoholic beverages.
In accordance with the legislation in force, trademarks, industrial designs containing the official or historical name of the State may be registered only with the permission of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design, whose activity is regulated by Government Decision No 8/2022.
