AGEPI participated in the International Scientific Conference “Yesterday’s Cultural Heritage - Implications for the Development of Tomorrow’s Sustainable Society”

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) participated from February 8 to 9, 2024, in the International Scientific Conference “Yesterday’s Cultural Heritage - Implications for the Development of Tomorrow’s Sustainable Society”, 9th edition, organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. This conference was held in the context of marking the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and took place in a hybrid format in Iasi, Chisinau and Lviv.

The event focused on a topic of major importance promoted by UNESCO since 2015: the appreciation and recognition of the role of women in science, innovation, technology and art. The conference brought together researchers from prestigious research and education institutions from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine, offering presentations in a variety of research, innovation and technology areas.

In the opening of the conference, Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property, emphasized the importance of women’s involvement in the scientific and cultural field. She highlighted AGEPI’s commitment to support and promote achievements in research and development, pleading for gender equality and diversity in these fields.

During the conference, Andrei Moisei, principal consultant, Communication and Training Division of AGEPI, presented a relevant topic on “Design and Its Relationship with the Field of Intellectual Property”, offering participants a valuable perspective on the connection between design and intellectual property protection. Participants were also informed about the importance of respecting and protecting intellectual property rights.

The conference represented an important step in promoting gender equality in the scientific and cultural fields, highlighting the significant contribution of women in these fields and the commitment of institutions in supporting and promoting diversity and innovation.
