The Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Eugeniu Rusu, participated on December 7, this year, in the Conference “Right to Image and Intellectual Property Objects”. The event was organized by the European Law Students’ Association - National Group “ELSA” and was part of the list of activities dedicated to the Intellectual Property Week, held from 5 to 9 December.

The purpose of the event was to promote and disseminate information on the national intellectual property (IP) system and to strengthen knowledge in the field of IP among students from Law Faculties.

In the opening, the Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, congratulated the students for the initiative to organize a week dedicated to intellectual property. Further, the discussions focused on intellectual property rights and their role in the development of a sustainable society, focusing in particular on copyright and related rights and concrete examples of their infringement, etc.

We should mention that AGEPI and the European Law Students’ Association - National Group “ELSA” signed a Cooperation Agreement in the field of intellectual property in April. The Agreement involves the cooperation of the two parties in the participation or organization of instructive-informative events in the field of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights for ELSA members; providing access to public information in the field of intellectual property and to reference information and document retrieval sources; providing, upon request, consultancy in the field of intellectual property, etc.
