The meeting of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design took place on December 5, in online format. The meeting was chaired by the President of the Commission, the Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property, Eugeniu Rusu.

The Commission met to examine 2 requests for the use of the official or historical name of the State in the trademark.

As a result of the examination, it was decided to grant permission to use the official or historical name of the state in the trademarks

The area of activity of the applicants relates to advertising; education; training; entertainment; sports and cultural activities; alcoholic beverages.

In accordance with the legislation in force, trademarks, industrial designs containing the official or historical name of the State may be registered only with the consent of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design, whose activity is regulated by Government Decision No. 8/2022.
