The International Conference “Protection of Intellectual Property in the Digital Era” was held on March 31, this year. The event took place in hybrid format and was organized by the Association of Legal Culture Henri Capitant Moldova, within the Jean Monnet Support to Associations in European Integration and Intellectual Property Protection Studies / EUPROIN Project, implemented with the support of Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, in cooperation with the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).
The purpose of this event was to foster and strengthen understanding and awareness of the role of intellectual property (IP) for the development, integration and economic growth of the country.
The Conference was attended by representatives of public authorities, higher education institutions, research and development organizations and the business environment.
In the opening of the event, Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of AGEPI, mentioned that: “This Conference will help the participants to get acquainted with the field of intellectual property and to find out how to protect themselves from possible abuses in the digital sphere. We all know that prevention is always more effective than treatment, which is why our joint efforts - of the authorities and rightholders - should focus on ensuring a comfortable and protective environment for creative work.”
The discussions and debates were then organized in three panels:
- Protection of Digital Intellectual Property,
- Competition and Intellectual Property: Interference and Challenges in the Digital Era,
- European Integration and Intellectual Property Protection.
During the event, the participants had the opportunity to connect to an interactive environment and to ask questions to the speakers, including specialists from AGEPI with vast experience in the fields addressed.
