The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) published two jubilee brochures on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the institution and the creation of the national intellectual property system.

The matter is about the “25 Pages from the History of the National Intellectual Property System” and “Intellectual Property in Figures”.

The first brochure reflects the main milestones that reflect the development and consolidation of the national intellectual property system through the joint efforts of all the actors involved in its construction: public institutions and authorities responsible for the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, authorized attorneys, inventors and researchers, authors of intellectual creations, etc. An effective intellectual property system, harmonized with international standards in the field, can be a powerful tool for economic development and social and cultural progress in the Republic of Moldova. The work also contains a CD with the promotional film dedicated to AGEPI’s 25 years of activity.

The brochure “25 Pages from the History of the National Intellectual Property System” was produced with the support of the EU-Funded Project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights”.

In the publication “Intellectual Property in Figures” is reflected the dynamics of the most important statistical indicators regarding the functioning of the national intellectual property system in the Republic of Moldova, organized and managed by AGEPI.

The statistical data presented cover the period 1993-2016 and refer in particular to: filing of applications for protection and protection granted for different intellectual property objects (inventions, trademarks, industrial designs, plant varieties, geographical indications and appellations of origin, copyright and related rights), maintenance of the titles of protection granted, the patenting/registration activity by the national and foreign applicants, the areas of interest of the applicants, the geographical origin of the intellectual property objects protected on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, protection of intellectual property objects by national applicants outside the country, etc.
