AGEPI participates in the 24th Session of the Working Group on the Legal Development of the Madrid System

The 24th Session of the Working Group on the Legal Development of the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), is taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, from October 5 to 9, 2026.

Representing the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) at the session are Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director, and Ludmila Cocieru, Head of the International Trademarks Section, alongside experts and representatives of Madrid System member states, international and regional organizations, as well as professionals and academics in the field of intellectual property.

The session agenda includes the examination of key topics for the development and modernization of the Madrid System, such as: Amendments to the Regulations Under the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement, the Evolution of the System, Working Language Issues, and the Development of the Madrid Information Platform.

A topic of direct interest to the Republic of Moldova is the Continued Discussions on the Proposal by the Moldovan Delegation to amend the Regulations Under the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement. The proposal concerns the conditions for filing international applications by multiple applicants.

Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director of AGEPI, was elected Chair of the 24th Session of the Working Group. In this capacity, Ms. Mogol chairs the session proceedings and facilitates debates on agenda items, as well as the dialogue among participating delegations.

AGEPI’s participation in this meeting contributes to representing and promoting the Republic of Moldova’s interests in the legal development of the Madrid System and to the country’s active involvement in the international dialogue for the modernization of the normative framework for the international registration of trademarks.
