Deputy Director General of AGEPI participates in the Executive Program on IP Issues for Senior Government Officials

The Deputy Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Natalia Mogol, is participating from June 3 to 14, 2024, in the Executive Program on Intellectual Property Issues for High-Level Civil Servants. The event is organized in Geneva, Switzerland by the Secretariat of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

This program aims to enhance national expertise in IP law and policy matters. The program offers a multidisciplinary approach to contemporary IP-related policy issues discussed at the international level.

Senior government officials from different countries with a strong background in IP, including international and policy dimensions, have the unique opportunity to engage with officials from WIPO and WTO. Topics discussed include:

  • Contemporary issues in copyright and related rights;
  • Technology transfer;
  • Issues at the crossroads of public health, IP and trade; and
  • IP as a catalyst for the digital economy and women empowerment.

On June 6, the Deputy Director General of AGEPI delivered a presentation within the Program, entitled “Moldova’s Experience in Building an Efficient System of Geographical Indications”. Natalia Mogol highlighted the progress and challenges encountered by the Republic of Moldova in the development of an efficient system of geographical indications, highlighting the lessons learned and the next steps for the improvement of this sector.
