AGEPI signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office

The Bilateral Meeting at Management Level between the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) and the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO) took place on April 25, 2024, in Budapest, Hungary.

The visit of the Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, to Budapest was undertaken at the invitation of the President of HIPO, Szabolcs Farkas, and represented a special opportunity for the consolidation and development of Moldovan-Hungarian bilateral relations in the field of intellectual property.

The main purpose of this event was to establish an effective and mutually beneficial collaboration framework between the two institutions, with an emphasis on identifying and exploring concrete ways of cooperation in various fields relevant to the protection of intellectual property rights.

During the visit, the Director General of AGEPI had the opportunity to familiarize himself with the activity of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office, and also to present the latest developments and achievements in the field of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights registered in the Republic of Moldova.

A particularly significant moment in the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between AGEPI and HIPO. This document will serve as a foundation for strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation, as well as for facilitating the exchange of experience and information between the Republic of Moldova and Hungary in the field of intellectual property.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Hungary, Oleg Tulea, also participated in the signing event of the Memorandum of Understanding between AGEPI and HIPO. Through his presence, Ambassador Tulea reiterated the firm commitment of the Republic of Moldova in promoting collaboration with Hungary and in facilitating the exchange of expertise and information in the field of intellectual property.
