The Winners of the Contest in the Field of Intellectual Property for Young People, 7th Edition, Have Been Designated

The State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Research from the Republic of Moldova, the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania (OSIM) and the Romanian Copyright Office (ORDA), revealed the winners of the 7th edition of the Contest in the Field of Intellectual Property for Young People.

This year, 52 participants applied to the Contest, 50 of them being accepted for the second stage of the Contest. At the second stage of the cmpetition, out of the 50 admitted participants, 20 answered the questions proposed by the organizers and all 20 accumulated the necessary points to be admitted to the next stage.

In the final stage of the Contest, the students prepared a paper on one of the themes proposed by AGEPI, which they presented during the summation meeting of the Organizing Committee, which took place on December 26, in a mixed format. Thus, in the third stage of the competition, 10 papers were received. After the presentation of the papers, the members of the jury decided on who are the winners of the Contest in the Field of Intellectual Property for Young People.

Winners of the 7th edition:

1. 1st ranked: Nica Novac, 9th grade pupil “Mihai Eminescu” Theoretical Lyceum in the city of Drochia. The theme of his paper was: Project of the Future. Rural Pension “Nordic Traditions” from Drochia District;

2. 2nd ranked: Dana Cojuhari, 12th grade pupil at the “Alexei Mateevici” College in Chisinau. Dana presented the work: Business with TINYTOUCH Sensory Books;

3. 3rd ranked: Maria-Eugenia Gritco, 11th grade pupil at the “Aristotel” Republican Theoretical Lyceum in Chisinau, who explored the theme: Women and Intellectual Property. Accelerating Innovation and Creativity.

Competitors received from AGEPI gift certificates for the purchase of electronic products and gadgets, as well as participation diplomas and promotional materials.

Traditionally, the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova came with monetary prizes for seven of the participants of the final stage of the Contest.

At the ceremony announcing the winners, the Director General of AGEPI, Eugeniu Rusu, congratulated the participants. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of supporting young people in the field of intellectual property and their role in the future of innovation. He emphasized the aim of the contest to develop a culture of innovation and expressed hope that this generation will continue to inspire and contribute to the progress of society.

Now in its 7th edition, the Contest was traditionally launched on April 26, on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, whose theme proclaimed by the World Intellectual Property Organization for 2023 was “Women and Intellectual Property: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity”.

The aim of the competition is to promote the intellectual property system, to raise awareness among young people about the phenomena of counterfeiting and piracy, to develop young people’s knowledge and skills in the field of IP, as well as their skills and competitive spirit, to create a communication environment between young people passionate about the field intellectual property and to foster the exchange of views and experience.
