The State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI) announces the launch of the National Report on the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in the Republic of Moldova for 2021.
The report is prepared by the Observatory on Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights of AGEPI, with the information support of the public authorities of the Republic of Moldova responsible for the enforcement of IP rights, namely: Customs Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance, Prosecutor General’s Office, Agency for Courts Administration, and Competition Council.
The Observatory was created in order to ensure the exchange of information between the authorities responsible for monitoring the enforcement of intellectual property rights, in order to prevent and eliminate deficiencies found in that system.
The Observatory’s report contains relevant statistical and analytical data on the activity of the above-mentioned authorities, as well as information on legislative and institutional evolutions in the field concerned.
The publication also reflects the most important actions undertaken by the public authorities of the Republic of Moldova during 2021 such as: training in the field of IP, cooperation with other national and international core organizations, activity of the WTO Notification and Information Center on the implementation of the TRIPs Agreement, as well as the activity of committees and advisory groups of the international and European organizations on IP rights enforcement.
The report is prepared annually since 2012, this year being a jubilee edition. The publication of the report is part of the public authorities’ efforts to develop a balanced intellectual property rights enforcement system, in line with the National Intellectual Property Strategy until 2020.
