The meeting of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design took place on 3 May, this year, in online format. The meeting was chaired by the President of the Commission, Eugeniu Rusu, Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI).

The Commission met to examine 3 requests for the use of the official or historical name of the State in the trademark, which were submitted to AGEPI.

As a result of the examination, it was decided to grant permission to use the official name of the state in the trademarks

The areas of activity of the applicants relate to foodstuffs, alcoholic beverages, and information and advertising services.

In accordance with the applicable law, trademarks, industrial designs containing the official or historical name of the State may be registered only with the consent of the Commission for Examination of Applications for the Grant of Permission to Use the Official or Historical Name of the State in the Trademark/Industrial Design, whose activity is regulated by Government Decision No. 8/2022.
