Meeting of the Observatory on Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights (Observatory) in an enlarged format was held online, on 21 September this year, at the initiative of the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance, Competition Council, Agency for Courts Administration, Customs Service and Prosecutor General’s Office.
The meeting was chaired by Natalia Mogol, Deputy Director General of AGEPI and Chair of the Observatory, and the main objective of the meeting was to present the Information Platform in the field of protection of intellectual property rights and identify the mechanisms that would contribute to the efficiency of the cooperation on the Observatory platform.
It was jointly agreed to further improve the Information Platform in the field of protection of intellectual property rights in order to ensure interoperability between the information systems of the authorities responsible for the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
Another aspect, agreed during the meeting, was the approval of the idea of establishing contact points within each participating institution in order to streamline communication on IPR enforcement issues, which will be achieved in the near future.
The participants in the meeting positively appreciated the Observatory’s activity, the cooperation they have with AGEPI, expressing their interest and willingness to contribute to the further efficiency of the Observatory’s activity.
