A one day seminar about biotechnological database resources is going to be given, free of charge, by the SLING partners in association with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova in Chişinău on the 17th January, at Central Scientific Library “A.Lupan”, 5A, Academiei str., Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.
The seminar is addressed to all interested persons, in particular: academia, industry, patent agents, patent examiners, etc. The working language of the seminar is English.
The European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) and the European Patent Office (EPO) will be presenting a comprehensive overview of databases containing biological sequences published in scientific publications and in patents. The seminar will highlight sequence search and comparison tools as well as sequence filing tools to be published at EBI or as biological patent sequences at EPO. The representatives of the State Agency on Intellectual Property will present the national patent system, including patent information resources and the available search tools.
