The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is organizing, on June 30, 2026, the eighth edition of the “Sharing Session on Women and IP” event series, with the generic name “Closing the Gender Gap in Intellectual Property (IP) – Women in Sports and IP”. The event will take place online, via Zoom platform, within the activities of the WIPO Standing Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP).
The session will offer participants the opportunity to learn about the experiences and perspectives of professional sportswomen on the role of intellectual property in their activities and professional careers. It will also address how intellectual property rights can support innovation, entrepreneurship, brand development and promote inclusion in sports, contributing to strengthening women’s participation and leadership in this sector.
The program includes presentations by professionals from Kenya, the United Kingdom, China and Brazil, followed by a discussion panel and a question and answer session. The language of the event is English, with interpretation in French and Spanish.
