During the period 29-30 May 2025, the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) conducted an information course in the field of intellectual property for doctoral students and scientific and teaching staff of the “N. Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

The purpose of this course was to promote, disseminate information and deepen the knowledge of the participants in the field of intellectual property. The course was divided into two sessions: “Intellectual Property as a Tool for Valorizing Research Results” and “Patenting of Inventions in the Republic of Moldova”.

The topics addressed in the course refer to intellectual property as a tool for protecting, promoting and valorizing research results, especially being highlighted the mechanisms for protecting intellectual property objects nationally and internationally. The advantages of protection in the participants’ field of activity were also brought up for discussion.

AGEPI specialists provided important information concerning the existing normative framework, as well as information sources, databases, and the way of their use in the document retrieval process.

The participants in the seminar were active and interested in the topics discussed. They asked questions concerning the procedure for registering inventions, patenting fees, as well as general questions related to the legislation in the field, about the services offered by AGEPI, etc.

The conduct of knowledge dissemination activities on the need for protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights is part of the training process for doctoral students and scientific and teaching staff in the field of intellectual property, constituting the main objective of the Cooperation Agreement between AGEPI and SUMPh “Nicolae Testemițanu”, signed in 2009.
