From October 6 to 8, 2026, representatives of the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova, members of the Observatory on Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), are participating in a study visit organized by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), with the support of the EU4IP project, in Budapest, Hungary.
The visit brings together representatives from the Republic of Moldova, Armenia, and Ukraine, aiming to strengthen cooperation in the customs and intellectual property rights enforcement field, as well as to facilitate the exchange of experience and best practices with competent Hungarian authorities.
During the visit, the participants have meetings and working sessions scheduled with representatives of the National Tax and Customs Administration of Hungary, the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office, the Police, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, as well as visits to customs and airport facilities. The agenda also features presentations and discussions on intellectual property rights infringement cases and cooperation between customs authorities and rightholders. Exchanging experience with counterpart institutions in Hungary offers participants the opportunity to learn about the mechanisms and practices used to combat counterfeiting and piracy in trade, thereby contributing to the strengthening of national intellectual property rights enforcement capacities.
The Customs Service’s participation in this visit is part of efforts to strengthen interinstitutional cooperation within the EIPR Observatory and to use opportunities for the exchange of experience offered by the EU4IP project.
