A New Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Technical Assistance Project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Moldova”

On 20 June this year, the second meeting of the Steering Committee of the Technical Assistance Project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Republic of Moldova”, financed by the European Union, was held at the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI). The main purpose of the project is to improve the enforcement of intellectual property legislation.

The meeting was chaired by the AGEPI Director General as the main beneficiary of the project. The event was attended by representatives of the co-beneficiary authorities of the General Police Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Agency for Courts’ Administration of the Ministry of Justice, Customs Service, Consumer Protection Agency, European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, and of the Project Implementing Consortium, company Archidata and team of experts responsible for project implementation.

At the opening, Lilia Bolocan, AGEPI Director General, thanked both the representatives of co-beneficiary authorities and the experts for their support and involvement in achieving the project’s objectives, which will ultimately improve the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in the Republic of Moldova, contributing to the building of a favorable climate for the development of innovative and creative industries.

Further, the experts presented a summary of the activities carried out during the first stage of project implementation. Also, the proposed activity program for the next six months was presented.

The EuropeAid/137467/DH/SER/MD Project “Support to Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights” was launched in November 2016 and has a 2-year implementation period.
