“INFOINVENT-2013” – A Unique Exhibition!

Today was inaugurated the thirteenth edition of the International Specialized Exhibition “INFOINVENT-2013”. The event is organized by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI), Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer (AITT) and is hosted by the International Center “MOLDEXPO”. The exhibition will run until November 22.

During the inauguration ceremony, Lilia Bolocan, Director General of AGEPI, welcomed the participants in the event, which aims to demonstrate the creative and innovative capacity of Moldova’s citizens. “The 540 new developed works are a demonstration in this regard”, said she, stressing the support of the national authorities and international organizations for the field of innovation in the Republic of Moldova.

“It’s a unique exhibition, this year being extended by far the spectrum of works. It includes inventions, creations of youth, innovative and technology transfer projects, plant varieties, industrial design, innovational products and services, and also cultural and creative industries. All these are valuable ideas meant to take the form of innovative products”, stressed Lilia Bolocan.

Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Lazar, Minister of Economy, highlighted the innovative character of the exhibition and the complex approach of AGEPI, which comes to represent the entire path of innovation - from idea to product.

Valeriu Lazar said that the current edition of “INFOINVENT” demonstrates that the Republic of Moldova has smart and innovative people, able to provide solutions to current problems.

Attending the event, Liliana Palihovici, Vice-Chairman of the Parliament, appreciated the efforts of AGEPI in organizing the event, expressing her desire the exhibition in question, in order to stimulate innovation, to be a biennial. Palihovici encouraged the young innovators to create new projects, giving assurances from the authorities regarding their support.

In turn, the President of the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Jean-Luc Vincent, congratulated AGEPI for the good organization of the event and a good opportunity for inventors to promote their products.

The guest of honor expressed his satisfaction that Moldova is among the 45 states that participate in specialized exhibitions in Geneva. “Many products are still to be invented, so it is very important to organize such actions”, said Jean-Luc Vincent.

The ceremony was also attended by the President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Gheorghe Duca, Director General of the Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer, Roman Chirca, Director General of the IEC “Moldexpo” J.S.C., Arcadie Andronic, researchers and inventors, representatives of innovative enterprises and young creators from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Italy, Slovenia, Estonia, Republic of Belarus, China.

In the framework of the exhibition, on November 21, the winner awarding ceremony of the ISE “INFOINVENT” and the Stock of New Inventions and Technologies in various fields will take place. The exhibition will culminate with the round table “The Role of Creative Industries for Economic Development of the Country”, organized by AGEPI in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Culture, which will be held on Friday, November 22 this year.

Since the first edition of the ISE “INFOINVENT” (1997) and until now, over 3,500 inventions have been presented, being initiated dozens of partnerships in the field of intellectual property.
